Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat

Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) is an important initiative aimed at strengthening the spirit of national unity, cultural understanding and mutual respect among the people of India. The programme provides students with opportunities to understand the rich cultural diversity of different states and regions and to appreciate the idea of “Unity in Diversity.” Through meaningful activities, students learn about the languages, traditions, food, festivals, art, music, dance, history and heritage of different parts of the country.

KV AFS Tughlakabad actively promotes the objectives of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Programme by organizing a variety of activities throughout the academic session. Students participate enthusiastically in activities such as cultural presentations, folk songs and dances, storytelling, poster-making, quizzes, essay writing, painting, language-learning activities, traditional games and exhibitions showcasing the heritage of different states and Union Territories. These activities provide students with an opportunity to explore India’s diverse cultural traditions while developing respect and appreciation for cultures other than their own.

The programme also encourages students to learn words, phrases and expressions from different Indian languages. Such language-based activities help students understand the linguistic richness of India and develop a sense of belongingness towards fellow citizens from different regions. Students are encouraged to share information about traditional attire, cuisine, festivals, handicrafts, historical personalities and important places associated with various states.

At KV AFS Tughlakabad, EBSB activities are designed not merely as co-curricular events but as meaningful learning experiences. Teachers integrate the themes of the programme with classroom teaching wherever possible, enabling students to connect cultural learning with subjects such as Social Science, Languages, Art Education, Music and Computer Science. Digital platforms and ICT tools are also used to help students explore the culture and heritage of partner states through presentations, videos, virtual interactions and creative digital projects.

The programme plays a significant role in developing national integration, empathy, tolerance, teamwork and respect for diversity among students. It encourages young learners to move beyond regional identities and understand that despite differences in language, food, dress, customs and traditions, all Indians share a common national identity.
